Define Newsletter Variable

The dialog for assigning a variable name to a presentation block, so its content can be inserted into newsletter templates.

The Define Newsletter Variable dialog (titled Define Variable or Adjust Variable, if a variable is already assigned) assigns a variable name to a single block in Presentation Studio (paragraph, heading, cover, or text-editor block), under which its content later becomes available in a Newsletter Template. The name can be picked from existing variables of the same kind or entered as new. It opens via:

  • the Define Variable / Adjust Variable menu item in the block's right-click menu (Newsletter group)
  • the Define Newsletter Variable menu item in the block inspector's header menu
  • the braces icon on the block in the block tree, once a variable is assigned

Variable names may only contain letters, digits, and underscores, and must start with a letter or underscore. The Delete button removes the assignment from the block again.
